- Provide 110 g (4 oz) butter or margarine
- Provide 110 g (4 oz) sugar
- Use 170 g (6 oz) dates, stoned and chopped
- Use 55 g (2 oz) glace cherries, quartered
- Provide 55 g (2 oz) sultanas
- Get 70 g (2 1/2 oz) Rice Krispies®
- Get 110 g to 170g (4 to 6 oz) plain chocolate, melted
Instructions to make Rice Krispies® date squares:
- Grease a deep baking tray or line with greaseproof paper.
- In a saucepan over a low heat, melt the margarine and stir in the sugar. Add the dates and bring to the boil. Once boiling, remove from the heat and mix in the cherries, sultanas and cereal. Transfer to the prepared baking tray and press into the sides. (don't press down and compress it, it makes it too hard) Chill in the fridge to set.
